Gale warnings have been issued along the Swedish coastline with winds of up to 20 metres per second expected to sweep in from the south-west late on Saturday evening.
A low pressure front will spread north across the country as Saturday night turns into Sunday morning and together with the hard winds, heavy rain and some snow falls are forecast in central and northern areas.
SMHI meteorologist Jonas Höglund said to Svenska Dagbladet that a storm the strength of Gudrun or Per from recent years was unlikely but confirmed that the low pressure front would bring filthy autumn weather and sunny spells would be in short supply.
