The injured man is known by the police.
“It’s a person we’ve been aware of for some time, a man in his thirties,” Lars Tegenfeldt of the Gothenburg police force told newspaper Dagens Nyheter (DN).
The shooting occurred just after 2am on the night between Friday and Saturday, at strip club Club Maxim, on central street Andra Långgatan. Two masked men attacked their victim and then ran from the spot.
The man was taken to Sahlgrenska Hospital in an ambulance, where it was concluded that his bullet wounds were not life-threatening.
Police spent the night doing a forensic investigation of the club, but are still trying to ascertain the cause of the fight, and have yet to make any arrests.
“We haven’t got anyone arrested right now. There’s a lot of information we need to process,” said Lars Tegenfeldt to DN.
