In brief: Mjällby are a small club from a small fishing village in Blekinge, who have spent the vast majority of their existence in much lower divisions. They surprised many when they won promotion to the Allsvenskan in 2009, but they’ve surprised many more by staying.
Expectations in 2013: Survival will be their priority, and there is every chance they’ll achieve it, however appointing a new inexperienced manager could be disruptive.
Players to watch: Pär Eriksson, a loanee from IFK Göteborg, was one of the competition’s leading goal scorers last season.
