Whether you'll be lucky enough to get good weather in France this weekend really depends on where you are.
On Friday, the country's meteorological service Météo France maintained storm warnings for certain regions in the north on Friday while issuing a heatwave alert for the south of the country.
In all 12 departments remain on alert including those in the Ile de France region around the capital as well as Aisne, Eure-et-Loir, Loiret and the Oise.
The warnings are set to remain in place until early Saturday morning. Météo France said people in these areas should be vigilante with the liklihood of the storms being violent.
Paris was hit by electric storms throughout the night on Thursday and into Friday morning with fork lightning and cracking thunder likely to have kept a few residents in the capital awake all night.
After several people, including two boy scouts were struck by lightning this week, the public have been warned to take care when out in storm. It is not advised to use your mobile phone or any other electric equipment. And despite the temptation to open an umbrella in the pouring rain, it would be unwise to do so.
Meanwhile in the regions of the Rhône and Isere in the south of France a heatwave warning is in place where temperatures are expected to keep rising into the high thirties until they reach a peak on Saturday.
