Norwegian sacks staff a week before Christmas
Norwegian Airlines has sacked all of its directly employed Swedish cabin crew less than a week before Christmas. "What a way to say Happy Christmas!" one of the laid-off employees told Aftonbladet.

The 52 employees, who were the last of the company's 300 Swedish cabin crew to be employed directly by Norwegian, were instead offered jobs at Proffice Aviation, an employment agency in the letter sent out on Wednesday afternoon.
"The timing is not the best, that we can agree with," Krister Aarnio, chief executive of the company's Swedish subsidiary told Aftonbladet. "The most important thing is that we ensure that everyone keeps their job."
One of the affected staff complained that Norwegian had long since ceased to be a good employer.
"We think it is strange. Many believe that Norwegian is such a good company, but it is not. It has not been for a long time. We can work 15 hours in one stretch."
