An initial complaint was made against the 53-year-old woman, who worked at Monterosi school, seven months ago by worried parents after they found scratches and bruises on their son’s body, Il Fatto Quotidiano reported.
After several other reports, police decided to put a camera in the classroom, where the teacher, originally from the town of Ronciglione, was filmed “hitting, insulting and threatening” the children.
In late 2012, two other nursery school teachers – Anna Laura Scuderi and Elena Pesce – were sentenced to six years and five years, respectively, for mistreating children in their care at a nursery in the Tuscan city of Pistoia.
The children were reported to have been “beaten, made to stand for hours while tied up and forced to eat cold food.”
