DWD has one warning for the coming days: Do not go into the woods.
For Friday and Saturday, the DWD warned that the coastal and mountainous regions, gale force winds of up to 100-kilometres-an-hour are expected as temperatures climb. The winds could bring down trees, warn meteorologists.
By midday on Saturday, two weather systems, named Christian and Felix, are expected to clash with dramatic results.
"At midday, we expect a cold front to come in with thunderstorms and strong gales of wind, even in the flatter areas," said Thursday's press release.
As well as high winds, meteorologists warn of thunderstorms and rains amidst unseasonably warm temperatures in the double digits in most part of Germany.
They also advised bringing the plants in.
Germany's national rail service, Deutsche Bahn (DB), also warned that the weather could affect service over the weekend. "When it happens, the trains on certain routes will have to reduce their speed," a DB spokesperson said, adding that any felled trees will be quickly removed to minimise the storm's impact on service.
