The Swedish crime novellist's manager, Christina Saliba, confirmed to the Expressen tabloid, who first broke the story, that Läckberg was pregnant with what would be her and MMA fighter Simon Sköld's first child together.
And the 40-year-old author later commented the news on social media, writing on Instagram: “If everything goes well we will, after trying for some time and switching between hope and despair [sic] finally become parents together this spring.”
“Thank you for all the congratulations and keep your fingers crossed for us, considering that it is still pretty early,” wrote the novellist, who is nine weeks' pregnant.

The happy couple first met in summer 2014 and began dating soon thereafter, just over a year after Läckberg divorced her first husband, Swedish reality TV star Martin Melin.
The author has been enjoying a soaring success on the global Nordic Noir scene, with bestsellers such as 'The Hidden Child' and 'The Ice Princess' translated into more than 30 languages around the world.

Läckberg also became known to the wider public in Sweden when she came in fourth in television dancing competition 'Let's Dance' (inspired by shows such as 'Strictly Come Dancing') in 2012.
Perhaps inspired by his girlfriend's success, Sköld took part in this year's round of the same contest in February, however he was voted out in the third week.
“Of course we have talked about children. But we have not made any decisions,” he said at the time.
Läckberg has three children from two previous relationships.
