And he added a thank you to staff at the Princess Grace hospital in Monaco in French, writing that they had been “fantastic”.
The Rosberg family didn't immediately say what they would choose to call their baby girl, their first child following their wedding in 2014.
But the Silver Arrows racer won't have much time to deliberate before he appears in Monza, Italy on Thursday in advance of the Italian Grand Prix next Sunday.
Whether Rosberg is able to better his second-place finish behind teammate Lewis Hamilton at last week's Belgian Grand Prix or buckles under the strain of new fatherhood remains to be seen.
But the 30-year-old from Wiesbaden may now have more important things on his mind than catching up the 28 points that separate him from Hamilton's 227 in the world championship rankings.
