Passersby in the small town of Gommersheim in Rhineland-Palatinate alerted officers to a green Opel Corsa being driven at walking speed and swerving across the road, a police report states.
When the police got up close, they realized there was a small boy behind the wheel. Police managed to help the child stop the vehicle.
The little scallywag was then handed over to his mother, who hadn’t noticed that her son had gone missing. Nobody was injured in the incident, but police are looking for witnesses.
In recent weeks, police in the far southwest of Germany have had to deal with bizarre instances of illegal driving.
In Saarland in April, cops pulled over a 38-year-old who was driving naked and without a licence.
When officers asked him why he was naked, his explanation was that he was on his way to a brothel.
