The dark grey all-terrain vehicle failed to stop at a routine police check and sped off down a crowded pedestrian-only street and knocked down two people.
Then with a Civil Guard patrol car in pursuit, the driver zoomed up the A-7 highway towards Marbella where it crashed into several vehicles injuring another four people including a newborn baby.

The incident took place shortly after 9pm on Sunday night. It was reported that the driver and passenger of the car had been involved in a fight at a local night club before driving off.
A police spokesman said the driver and the passenger were aged 27 and 28, held British passports and showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol. Both have been taken into custody.
Among those injured were a 12-day old baby, a 35 year-old woman and a 38 year old man who were being treated in hospital for their injuries and a 53-year-old woman was treated and then discharged.
None of those hurt have life-threatening injuries.
The incident sparked panic in the busy resort of Puerto Banus but police quickly discounted that it was a terrorist attack.
