As of 12 am on Tuesday tough new coronavirus restrictions will be enacted across Austria that will include a curfew and closure of restaurants, der Standard reports.

According to the leaked document, Austria’s government will impose a curfew from 8pm until 6am.

Most venues for leisure and sport activities such as cinemas, theatres, swimming pools, dance schools and betting shops will be closed.

Museums and zoos will also have to close their doors, but libraries will be allowed to stay open, as will parks.

Restaurants will be forbidden from having sit-in guests but they will be allowed to continue to sell food to take away.

The rules are to stay in place until November 30th.

Kurz is set to give a press conference at 4.30 pm on Saturday.
