At midnight on Sunday evening/Monday morning, Austria’s flight ban on planes from the United Kingdom expired.
The ban had been put in place due to concerns about the Delta variant.
However, while direct flights have resumed on Monday, this does not mean tourist travel can kick off again.
Only Austrian citizens and residents, along with residents of the EU/EEA and Switzerland, are allowed to enter Austria.
Austria's landing ban (#Landeverbot) for passenger flights from the UK expired at midnight – flights are now possible again.
Restrictions on who can enter Austria from the UK remain in place.

Tourists and other non-residents are therefore currently not permitted to enter.
A list of other exceptions is laid out on the Austrian Embassy of London website here.
Those who are allowed to enter must produce evidence of a negative test and will be required to quarantine.
