Last Thursday the politician was stopped at a police checkpoint outside Hudiksvall. Police immediately confiscated Sjödin’s licence after she was caught driving at a speed of 105 kilometres per hour on a 70km/h stretch.
Police fined Sjödin 3,600 kronor and reported the incident to the county board, which will now decide how long the politician should be kept off the road.
“She has taken a time-out, so this is not something that SSU will comment on,” Rasmus Korsvall from the organisation’s press service told Expressen.
Since being found guilty of assault in a court cause concluded last month Sjödin has taken a break from politics.
The politician considers that she has been wrongly convicted of assaulting and verbally abusing a bouncer at Stockholm’s Crazy Horse pub and hopes to take her case to the court of appeal.
