“It is clear that Anna Sjödin was exposed to violence by the doorman but it was not of a punishable degree – rather, it was proportional given the circumstances,” said prosecutor Per Lindqvist to TT.
“For this reason I have dropped the prosecution.”
He declined to give any further details about whether Anna Sjödin would eventually be prosecuted.
“I will make a decision at the end of next week at the earliest and I don’t want to anticipate my own decision by saying something now,” said Lindqvist.
What really happened at the Crazy Horse bar on January 28th is still unclear since accounts of the incident vary. But the staff and doormen claim that Sjödin was drunk and causing a disturbance. When they tried to escort her from the premises a brawl broke out, with abuse and blows apparently hurled from both sides.
In the end Anna Sjödin was arrested and spent the night in a police cell for drunks.
Sjödin was elected leader of the SSU in August 2005.
