The case involved a lawyer who had meticulously recorded the amount of time one of his employees spent in the bathroom between May 8-26, 2009. According to his records, the employee was away from his desk for toilet visits for 384 minutes.
The lawyer subtracted this amount of time based on the worker’s average daily wage and docked €682.40 from his net paycheque.
The employee brought the case to court, arguing that he had suffered from digestive problems. He has since found another employer.
