Daily Lübecker Nachrichten reported that the 18 and 19-year-old allegedly met the girl from a secondary school near Bremen at a youth hostel in the British capital last Thursday. She reportedly drank alcohol with the older students, who attend the Emil-Possehl high school in Lübeck, the paper said.
The girl told a teacher that she was later brought to a hostel room by the two young men and raped. The teacher immediately informed police, the paper reported.
The suspects are also accused of filming the rape on a mobile phone, which has been confiscated by police. British authorities are also investigating whether the crime was pre-mediated because the girl was intoxicated at the time of the incident.
The Foreign Office in Berlin has been notified about the arrests, although extradition requests for the suspects have not been filed.
The Emil-Possehl school website states that the institution is a “European School,” which promotes European exchange programs and encourages an “international attitude” and cultural tolerance.
