On Friday much of Germany will be swept with rain and snow from Schleswig-Holstein in the north down to the Alps in the south. Precipitation will be particularly heavy in the south-west of the country before moving east.
Toward the evening, much of the north-east will remain relatively dry. Temperatures Friday will range from freezing in the east to up to 7 degrees Celsius in the west.

Early Saturday morning will see chilly temperatures south of the Danube River and in eastern Bavaria, where snow is expected.
The far western parts of Germany can expect to be largely free from frost, although they will get some rain showers. Top temperatures will range from between minus 3 degrees and 6 degrees.
The beginning of next week will herald dry but bitingly cold weather, according to the DWD.
