On August 27th, Wallenberg would have been 100-years-old. In honour of the saviour of thousands of Jews during World War II, the Swedish Academy declared the date would henceforth be celebrated as Raoul Wallenberg Day.
In Stockholm, some hundred people gathered at the Wallenberg Square in front of the National Theatre (Dramaten). We spoke to a selection and found out why Wallenberg needed his own day, or why Sweden needed it.
