The crash occurred in Reinach, near Basel, after the driver of the car lost control.
The young Swiss beginner driver’s encounter with the eight-legged creature is being blamed for the fatality-free head-on collision in Reinach, near Basel, says Corriere del Ticino, a newspaper based in the Italian part of Switzerland.
According to the paper, the 22-year-old unidentified woman from Canton Zurich lost control of her car after spotting the spider. She invaded the opposite lane and ended up crashing against another car, driven by a 52-year-old man. While the man was only lightly injured, damages amount to 10,000 Swiss francs, the paper said.
