The photo, posted on the Facebook page of their charitable fund, shows Mette-Marit, her neck-brace hidden by a scarf, clinging adoringly to Crown Prince Haakon and smiling broadly.
"Great that Crown Princess Mette-Marit could also attend a part of the meeting while she is still in recovery from her operation," read a message on the Facebook page.
Norwegian news site ABC Nyheter was sharply criticized last week after it published a story saying many Norwegians were worried by rumours of an impending divorce.
It quoted an unnamed official telling Katrine Angelica Østlyngen, a journalism student who called the palace, dismissing the rumours.
"We are familiar with the rumour, and it's just a rumour," the palace official said. "You are not the first to have called and asked about it. But it's not true."
The rumours had been circulating on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook for more than a month, with some posts claiming that a press conference was planned to announce a split as early as this week.
Mette-Marit is currently recovering from surgery last month on the slipped disc which has stopped her fulfilling her official duties since the start of October.
