The two wheel-bound sisters Miriam and Alba live in the town of Teruel in Aragon and only have access to the street via a specially-designed lift.
"We can go out onto the street, and we can go wherever we please and so we can have a dignified life," the sisters told Spain's 20 Minutos.
But now a local judge has ordered the demolition of the lift.
The judge made the decision after a neighbour of the two sisters complained the lift was blocking his view and casting shadow on his terrace.
The sisters said "I think its not fair that they give more importance to some shadows than to our lift."
Most of the neighbours support the sisters and said the lift had already been approved in the past.
However, the fact that the lift was given the green life the first time around hasn't prevented a judge in the province from ordering the lift's demolition.
With the discontented neighbour refusing to back down, the only hope for the sisters is social pressure.
They have now collected 50,000 signatures to block a demolition they see as discriminatory.
