The cow had escaped through the fence of a nearby pasture, and decided to visit one of the neighbours, according to a report from Austrian broadcaster ORF.
Around 7:45 am in the morning the owner of the home found the cow floating in his pool and called emergency services.
The owner of the cow arrived from the nearby town of Lauterach, bringing a front-end loader. With the help of the fire-fighters, the pool's water level was reduced until the cow could stand securely.

The farmer then jumped into the pool, and calmed down the distressed animal. He placed straps around the animal, which were then used to hoist the hapless bovine out of the pool and onto dry land.
Fortunately, the cow was unhurt after its unplanned dip, although the pool cover was badly damaged when the cow crashed through it.
