According to the newspaper, Ubaydullah Hussain, spokesman for the Prophet’s Ummah group, is under investigation by Norway’s Police Security Service (PST).
“We are conducting an ongoing investigation in which two people are bring charged with participation, support or recruitment for terrorism,” PST lawyer Line Nygaard told VG.
Hussain in June accompanied an unnamed 18-year-old Norwegian to Landvetter airport in Gothenburg, where the young man was arrested on charges of planning to fly to Turkey to join Isis, otherwise known as Islamic State or Daesh, in Syria. He denies that this was the case.
Hussain was in Oslo District Court on Monday to attend the examination of one of the 18 year old’s childhood friends.
And while Hussain’s lawyer John Christian Elden confirms his client was charged in June, he said that they had yet to receive any information as to which particular crime he is charged with committing.
