The list, compiled by the job rating website Glassdoor, ranked the top 12 companies paying the highest average salaries in Germany, Business Insider reports.
The firm with the highest average salaries was the American technology company Intel, which pays its German employees on average €77,500 per year – slightly less than double the average annual wage.
The study was conducted by examining every company which advertised more than 20 jobs on the Glassdoor website, with the data taken from the period between March 14th 2015 and March 13th 2017.
In second place came the European multinational aerospace company Airbus Group, which paid their employees €1,000 a year less than their Intel counterparts at €76,500.
Nearly €10,000 a year less in third place was the American technology giant IBM, which paid its employees an average of €66,918 a year.
Of the 12 companies that topped the ranking, nine were German. However, of the top three firms, two (Intel and IBM) are from the US and one (Airbus Group) is European.
Two of Germany's biggest banks, Commerzbank and Deutsche Bank, came sixth and eighth place respectively.
The bottom four companies listed – all nonetheless paying their employees an average of over €60,000 – were all automotive firms. Three of Germany's largest car makers – Volkswagen, Daimler, and Audi – were joined by the automotive manufacturing firm Continental.
Wages in Germany have been on the rise in the past few years, increasing for the third year in a row in 2016 by 1.8 percent. The record percentage increase came in 2015, which saw wages increase by 2.4 percent.
The states where professionals earn the most was also revealed by Statista last month. It showed Hesse was the highest-paying state, with an average of €57,000 a year before tax. The lowest paying state was Saxony-Anhalt, where workers were paid an average of about €37,700 a year.
