“She told us she was held down and raped,” said police inspector Torbjörn Lindqvist.
The woman was on her way home from a party at the time. She said she was not acquainted with any of her attackers.
“Afterwards she came in to the emergency ward and explained what had happened,” said Lindqvist.
The woman was questioned by police in Linköping on Saturday morning. The interview was carried out by staff trained in dealing with rape victims.
She was then to be taken to hospital for treatment and tests. Torbjörn Lindqvist said he “couldn’t speculate” on the woman’s psychological condition.
Police have not yet made any arrests and had no leads to work on in the period immediately after the alleged attack.
“But we have technicians working at the cemetery and hopefully we’ll be able to find something,” said Lindqvist.
