The warm weather will start in in the south and then move north, arriving at the northern tip of the country on Thursday and Friday, bringing sunshine and summer temperatures of 20C.
“It’s not that unusual for temperatures to reach 25 degrees at the start of September, but you should remember that there won’t be that many hours in the day at those temperatures,” SMHI meteorologist Therese Fougman told TT newswire.
Temperatures are expected to drop quickly during the evening, to between 10 and 12C during the night.
The warm temperatures are expected to continue into the weekend, when Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö are all expected to see temperatures of between 20C and 23C.
