Vienna’s Metro Lines resume normal service
The subway lines U2, U3, U4 and U6 have been running normally again since this morning after severe floods over the weekend affected service. At the U6, this was still uncertain, but the pumping work could still be completed on Tuesday evening. However, the U4 has to drive slowly in some places.
There are slow-moving points on the U4 between the stations Schottenring and Schwedenplatz as well as between Pilgramgasse and Kettenbrückengasse. After completion of the work, these sections of the route will be driven again at normal speed in a few days.

Wiener Neustadt man jailed for sending Nazi-themed messages
A 30-year-old man appeared in Wiener Neustadt Regional Court on Tuesday, facing charges of Nazi reactivation after sending 65 Nazi-themed messages via WhatsApp in 2023.
The messages included pictures of Adolf Hitler and Nazi slogans. The man, who lives on €400 pocket money from his mother and has been convicted seven times before, claimed he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs when sending the messages.
He stated he didn’t intend to glorify Nazi terror, and his lawyer argued he hadn’t “internalised Nazi ideas.” However, the jury sentenced him to 20 months in prison, with six months unconditional. The sentence is not yet legally binding.
